Master Percussionist-Drummer/ Instructor/

Music Director / Visual Artist.  CHICO was born in Lima, Peru, in the bohemian, artistic and popular neighborhood of Monserrat "Cuartel Primero".

He studied and learned since childhood a wide variety of rhythms, music styles and percussion instruments. His creative and innovative technique & philosophy along with his speed is the result of many years of experience, performance and studies with the master afroperuvian musicians from the "Old School".  CHICO's dedication to learn and explore roots music and world rhythms show in his unique sounds. He  currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  CHICO performs, teachs, records and produces with many national and international talents, from; Africa, Europe, Latin & Northamerica, as well as, many well known local artists​.  Some of CHICO'S accomplishments are; film festivals, theatres, directing contemporary jazz projects with fresh tendences and leading percussion circles.​  CHICO takes pride in educating and transforming elements to create a new generation of performers. ​ "He has a spiritual relation with the percussion and drums, the sound of his hands is a poem to the life."
